Position Title : Financial Counselor

Job Summary :

Through hospital policy and procedure, the Financial Counselor is responsible for admitting patient as an outpatient or inpatient ensuring accurate and expeditious verification, and / or authorization.

• Achieve and sustain desirable levels of internal and external customer service, regulatory compliance and financial performance within the revenue cycle.
• Maintain a thorough knowledge of Managed Care contracts.
• Account follow-up after admission
• Computer input of all financial information pertinent to patient
• Ensures patient’s chart is maintained with current / accurate information for Medical Records and Case Management
• Verifies and / or corrects daily bed, room, and charge census to ensure correct statistical data and distributes to appropriate departments
• Reviews patient financial information for complete and accurate data before sending to the business office for billing.
