Job Summary :
The Fire Alarm Technician is responsible for the installation, programming, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of fire alarm systems, with additional support provided for security components. This role ensures fire and security system installations meet regulatory compliance, quality standards, and customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities :
Fire Alarm Technician (Primary) :
- System Installation & Programming : Install, program, and test fire alarm and life safety systems, including control panels, detectors, alarms, and emergency communication devices, to ensure compliance with NFPA codes and local fire safety regulations.
- Troubleshooting & Maintenance : Diagnose, maintain, and repair fire alarm systems to ensure reliable operation. Perform corrective actions to ensure system compliance with all applicable fire codes and standards.
- Code Compliance : Stay current on national and local fire codes (NFPA) and apply this knowledge in all fire system installations and troubleshooting.
- Testing & Inspection : Regularly test and inspect fire alarm systems to verify that they meet performance standards and regulatory requirements. Conduct high-quality testing to ensure full compliance and functionality.
- Documentation : Maintain detailed and accurate records of installations, inspections, testing, and repairs. Adhere to standard operating procedures for business operations, safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Customer Interaction : Serve as a reliable contact for field operations with customer representatives. Provide professional customer support and training as required, fostering strong relationships with customers and vendors.
