Are you a hands-on fire protection professional ready to move beyond “consulting” and into real-world impact?
Our client, a trusted leader in fire suppression system design and installation, is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to join their growing team. This is a unique opportunity to work with a group fully involved in the contracting process—from drawings to delivery.
As a key contributor, you’ll ensure fire protection designs meet the highest standards of safety, code compliance, and performance. You'll collaborate cross-functionally with design, project management, and field teams while providing technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Interpret construction documents including drawings, specifications, and contracts
Review fire sprinkler system designs for compliance with NFPA standards, building and fire codes
Design smaller fire sprinkler systems and conduct hydraulic analyses
Advise clients on fire safety measures and code compliance
Collaborate with architects, contractors, and internal stakeholders to integrate fire protection into building plans
Train and support design staff on fire sprinkler layout and system design
Remain current with industry codes, standards, and regulations
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related engineering field
PE license required (or willingness to obtain licensure in Missouri and Illinois)
Minimum 5 years of fire protection contracting engineering experience (consulting-only backgrounds are not a fit)
Strong knowledge of NFPA standards and system design applications
Proficiency with Microsoft Office; knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, and HydraCAD preferred
NICET Level III or IV is a plus
Ability to travel locally as needed
Benefits Overview
Health insurance
COBRA premiums covered for the first 90 days
Dental insurance
Supplemental coverage available through AFLAC
401(k) through American Funds with 100% match up to 4%
