Job descriptionBachelor of Science degree in fire protection engineering from an ABET-accredited four-year college or university and two years" experience in the areas of fire protection and fire alarm system design. Certification as an EIT preferred.
Description :
- Applies standard techniques and procedures in the design of fire sprinkler systems, including hydraulic analysis, drawings and specifications for systems in commercial buildings.
- Provides design of fire alarm systems to produce bid and construction documents including drawings and specifications.
- Interfaces and provides direction to CAD / Design staff to produce permit documents in 3 Dimensions using AutoCAD CAD MEP or Revit.
- Requires a working knowledge of the International Code Council codes and National Fire Protection Association Standards and Guidelines.Requires the development of a working knowledge of local codes in multiple jurisdictions across the western United States to support specific project efforts.
- Creates smoke removal and rational analysis reports and performs required design calculations
