Forklift Mechanic | Tulsa, OK
Temp to Hire | $17-$25 / hr DOE
Mon-Fri 8 am – 5 pm
Our customer was established in 1987. They are a well known materials handling company and they want you to join their team as a mechanic technician.
Below are the preferred skills for this position but if you have a strong mechanical aptitude with skills that are applicable to the position, and a GREAT attitude, consideration will be given.
Mechanic Technician Duties :
Check equipment and operating systems and correct wherever necessary.
Ensure mechanical operations, standards and controls are maintained at high quality.
Resolve motor, pump, conveyor and hydraulic problems.
Ensure high level technical support to lower level technicians.
Show expertise in working with team and independently.
Comply with company safety guidelines and procedures.
Repair and perform preventive maintenance as per established standards.
Use hand tools like power tools and rigging equipment daily.
Weld using cutting torch.
Handle simple and complex heavy industrial equipment like forklifts, scissor lifts, basket trucks and bobcats.
Comply with company and customer regulations and policies.
Handle personal tools for job including up-to-date documented personal tool lists.
Handle time accounting ad complete work order.
Manage positive customer and employee relations.
Work all shifts flexibly when job demands.
Mechanic Technician Requirements :
Must have a valid drivers license
Clean MVR
Must have own mechanics tools
Experience as a mechanic technician is preferred

- Diagnose, adjust, repair, or overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment, such as cranes, bulldozers, graders, and conveyors, used in construction, logging, and mining.
- Repair and replace damaged or worn parts.
- Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications.
- Operate and inspect machines or heavy equipment to diagnose defects.
- Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools.
- Overhaul and test machines or equipment to ensure operating efficiency.
- Adjust, maintain, and repair or replace subassemblies, such as transmissions and crawler heads, using hand tools, jacks, and cranes.
- Repair, rewire, and troubleshoot electrical systems.
- Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs, using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devices.
- Examine parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges.
- Fit bearings to adjust, repair, or overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
- Research, order, and maintain parts inventory for services and repairs.
- Weld or solder broken parts and structural members, using electric or gas welders and soldering tools.
- Schedule maintenance for industrial machines and equipment, and keep equipment service records.
- Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles.
- Assemble gear systems, and align frames and gears.
