Registered Nurse (RN) works as part of a multidisciplinary team with a Certified Community Behavioral Health Center (CCBHC) model. Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for helping consumers by performing in all clinic areas including, but not limited to, vitals, urine drug screens, tele-psychiatry, nurse line, refills, and administration of medications. Will participate in Suboxone inductions and Spravato. Demonstrates knowledge of co-occurring disorders and appropriate interventions.
RN Duties and Responsibilities
Understand and adhere to CCBHC standards, including its history, philosophy, structure, and purpose.
Apply best-practice treatment models for SMI, co-occurring disorders, and trauma.
Facilitate client connections and assist with billing under CCBHC standards.
Review clinic schedules daily and monitor chat rooms for walk-in clients needing vitals.
Perform and document vitals according to protocol; report abnormal results to providers.
Review provider schedules daily for UDS appointments and monitor chat rooms for clients needing UDS.
Document all UDS results per protocol.
Conduct and document vitals, prepare clients for tele-psychiatry sessions, assist with documentation and sanitize office areas between clients.
Verify lab orders in client charts, perform lab draws with aseptic technique, and process them daily according to protocol.
Document all lab draws.
Conduct vitals, verify injection details, administer injections, observe effects, and communicate with providers.
Schedule subsequent injections and document all actions.
Administer Clinic Opiate Withdrawal Scale (COWS) for suboxone induction, conduct vitals, observe medication effects, and communicate with providers. Document all Suboxone or Spravato administrations.
Assess live calls / messages for medication needs, including refills, scheduling, side effects, and prior authorizations.
Respond to messages by 3 : 00 pm the same day; return calls after 3 : 00 pm by noon the next day.
Document all interactions per protocol.
Review prescription program for refill requests, process refills per protocol, handle controlled medications with provider approval, and notify clients of refill status and document all refill requests.
Review and complete prior authorization forms, notify clients of approvals / denials, and document actions accordingly.
Assume supervisory duties as directed by Nurse Manager, conduct monthly checks of AED and Emergency Medication Kits, dispose of outdated medications, and provide guidance to CNA, RMA, CMA, and LPN staff.
Complete daily charting, maintain team communication, store mobile devices during work hours, coordinate with Nurse Manager before leaving, and assist with in-building and in-office emergencies.
Maintain cleanliness, stock supplies, attend training events, and assist with medication education.
Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisors.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Familiarity and knowledge in order to administer Clinic Opiate Withdrawal Scale (COWS).
Able to work with the public and maintain professional manner and confidentiality at all times.
Maintain an effective working relationship with agency employees.
Must possess a driver's license and use personal automobile to travel to locations other than primary office. Mileage reimbursement provided when applicable
Able to document activities, write reports, business correspondence and procedure manual.
Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from colleagues, clients, customers and the general public.
Effectively communicate and interact with colleagues, clients, client's families, public and third party payer personnel.
Experience
Previous experience working with clients with mental illness and or substance abuse is preferred. Requires knowledge of professional nursing practice care techniques and medical procedures, medical supplies, sanitation and personal hygiene; and of nutrition. Skills in planning, organizing, and applying nursing care techniques working with clients with mental illness and co-occurring disorders.
Licenses and Certifications Required
Must be a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Oklahoma
Must possess a valid Driver License and satisfactory driving record and use personal automobile to travel to locations other than primary office. Proof of automobile insurance required. Mileage reimbursement provided when applicable
CCBHC Model of Care
Family & Children's Services works to heal hurting and abused children, strengthen families, and provide hope and a path to recovery for those battling mental illness and addiction. You will be working in an innovative and dynamic environment using a new transformative model of care Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC). This model is characterized by innovative, team-based approach and whole person care for adults and children with a range of complex mental health and substance use challenges.
Utilizing multi-disciplinary teams, staff work collaboratively to provide a coordinated effort to enhance client recovery. Robust CCBHC services often result in better client outcomes and quality of care due to :
Increased access to care and crisis services
Expanded traditional community mental health and substance use services.
Added Care Coordination and physical health screening for mental health clients
Greater access to Social Services for clients' economic and social needs
Increased specialized services for veterans, those most in need, and those impacted by the opioid crisis.
