Principle Responsibilities & Position Purpose :
Responsible for the daily operation of the Front Desk and Guest Services coordinating with other departments as required to manage Guest satisfaction by ensuring staffing, service and financial standards are met.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Responsible for the strategic planning and vision of the Front Office and Guest Service departments.
- Assist in preparing end of the month and statistical reports such as Occupancy Analysis Report, Conference History and Group Commission Reports.
- Interviewing prospective applicants. Require ability to communicate effectively using positive and clear English. Fairly select the appropriate candidates to meet Flik Platinum Standards and expectations.
- Conduct research and resolve guest allowances using reasonable judgment.
- Train, coach and develop employees. Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing of all Front Office policies, procedures and seasonal packages and promotions.
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to provide clear direction to staff. Assign and instruct Guest Service Agents of work assignments. Observes performance and encourages improvement.
- Remain calm and alert, especially during emergency situations and / or heavy hotel activities, serving as a role model for Guest Service Agents. Make decisions and take action based on previous experience and good judgment. Authorize revenue allowances to remedy problems only after other alternatives have been offered.
- Resolve customer complications and complaints by conducting thorough research of the situation and the most effective solutions. Assist in writing guest complaint letters which require good writing skills.
- Ensure efficiency and effectiveness of the Front Office with appropriate staffing level and proper assignment of breaks according to occupancy percentage, arrival and departure pattern.
- Oversee Valet Parking & Bell Services
- Ensure that all functions outlined by individual job descriptions and department manager are met and completed by every colleague
- Coordination of the above departments to ensure a smooth day-to-day operation for our arriving and departing guests
- Personally welcome and greet VIP and Repeat guests
- Establish goals, measurements and results
- Effective recruitment, selection & development of leaders and colleagues
- A coaching nature and empathetic approach to leadership, positively impacting colleague satisfaction, and the guest experience
- In case of non-obedience of standards and procedures provide coaching and disciplining to avoid repetition of incident in the future
- Verify and maintain proper documentation for all colleagues in your departments
- Works closely with Reservations, Housekeeping and Maintenance to properly plan and coordinate room assignments and room maintenance scheduling
- Ensure high morale through recognition and the removal of identified barriers
- Ability to adapt to the challenges of a diverse, multi-cultural work force
- Attend Pre-Conference Meetings and provide assistance for Front Office departments as needed
- Hold departmental meetings and provide guidance to team and individual colleagues
- Search for industry trends, and implement enhancements to product and service
- Track and address all guest comments and concerns
- Ensure company PLATINUM SERVICE standards are implemented and audited for consistency
- Develop / update Job descriptions, standard operating procedures for all shifts and positions
- Assist in the preparation of the department operational budget
- Plan, cost and execute capital expenditures
- Effective scheduling, vacation planning and department productivity results to budget
- Effective everyday communications, including performance management
OTHER
Regular attendance in conformance to standards is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with Flik rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of hotel facilities. Employees who violate Hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS
In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by management based upon the particular requirements of the company.
OTHER DUTIES
Assimilate into The AT&T Hotel & Conference Center Family the PLATINUM SERVICE culture through understanding, supporting and participating in all elements of PLATINUM SERVICE. Demonstrate working knowledge of the service standards.
Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Flik from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.

EDUCATION
High School diploma and College degree required.
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from High School or any other combination of education, training or experience that provide the required knowledge, skills and ability.
EXPERIENCE LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES
Minimum of two years combined prior Front Desk and supervisory experience preferred, minimum of six months supervisory experience or one year comparable Front Desk, hospitality or related experience.
Individuals are required to meet the minimum bonding standards.
Drivers License required.
