The Attendant is an employee of Edustaff and provides personal care services and / or medical assistance to students in the general education population or to students eligible for special education services.
Placement : Flint Community Schools (specific school location to be determined)
Essential Job Functions (note this is not an exhaustive list of the duties performed for this position) :
Assist students with personal needs (toileting, dressing, lifting, feeding, etc.).
May assist students with advanced medical needs (Tracheostomy care, urinary catheterization, etc..).
Demonstrate tact, patience and a nurturing demeanor when interacting with students.
May assist physical therapist in the preparation for and administration of therapy treatment.
May assist with students in hydrotherapy pool and / or in pool area.
Assists non-ambulatory students to scheduled therapies or classrooms (wheelchairs, walkers, etc.)
Assist with loading and unloading of cabs and busses.
Assist students before and after school, and in lunchroom, with recreation or resting or both.
Assist in classroom under the guidance of teacher.
Help prepare, organize, inventory, and distribute teaching materials and teaching aids.
May assist with routine clerical work.
Complete Medicaid logging / billing for personal care services provided.
Represent the District and Catalyst in a professional manner by performing all job functions at a satisfactory or above level.
Interact with staff, administration, students, parents, and the community in a positive, supportive, and cooperative ways.
Qualifications :
High School Diploma / GED required. Medical certification is preferred.
Physical Requirements :
Ability to lift / carry up to 20 lbs.
Ability to sit / stand for extended periods of time.
Continuously required to talk and hear.
Compensation :
12.26 per hour, 35-37.5 hours per week, approximately days per year, no benefits, non-exempt.
