As a Game Design Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of game designers to prototype, design, and ship first-party experiences across Horizon Worlds. You will work closely with cross-functional partners in design, art, engineering, product management, and other disciplines to guide the team to explore innovative new experiences, layouts, mechanics, and systems that facilitate and enable social connections and utilize best practices from VR, MR, desktop, and mobile. In this role, you'll be expected to utilize your full range of people management skills, product strategy, and game design skills to ensure our products and features are valuable for people and at the highest level of craft and execution. You will also be responsible for continuing to grow our multidisciplinary, diverse game design team.Required Skills : Game Design Manager Responsibilities : Build and manage a talented, diverse, inclusive team of game designers that consistently delivers on projects and is well-balanced across a range of design skill setsResponsible for overall team performance and health, resource allocation, project prioritization, and building a culture of design excellenceLead and oversee the implementation of the user experience from product conception to launch - as well as post-launch design support, while partnering with PMs, engineers, researchers, creatives, content strategists, and QAContribute to strategic decisions around the future direction of Meta’s products, working with the Creative and Product teamsEffectively communicate your team's product goals (both within the team and outside the team), and connect related projects across the company so that problems or joint decisions can be resolved quicklyDesign end-to-end experiences with satisfying and novel core mechanics, loops, level layouts, and systemsProactively solicit and provide feedback from designers and a broader product team in order to continually raise our bar for quality, while also taking on mentorshipAdvocate for game design and help us build a great, welcoming, and inclusive game design community within Reality Labs and throughout MetaMinimum Qualifications : Minimum Qualifications : 6+ years of game design experience or a minimum of 2 shipped titles on any platform that have been successful (highly rated, critically acclaimed, award-winning, etc.)3+ years of design leadership experience with direct reports under your guidance and leadership6+ years of experience working collaboratively with product, engineering, design, content and user research teamsExperience in leading design strategy and vision, with experience in developing goals and also fluency in executing such as tuning the feel of the game or low fidelity prototypingExperience leading end-to-end development efforts and designing games from concept to launch and live opsExperience with 3D development engines such as Unity or UnrealExperience representing work to a broader product team and other leaders, clearly and succinctly articulating the goals and conceptsPreferred Qualifications : Preferred Qualifications : Experience developing or designing VR or AR gamesGeneral design knowledge across a range of design specializationsKnowledge of 3D art and visual design principlesExperience utilizing research and data to drive strategy and decision makingPublic Compensation : $165,000 / year to $231,000 / year + bonus + equity + benefitsIndustry : InternetEqual Opportunity : Meta is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action employer.
