About the Role
We are seeking a Plant Operator to join a large-scale power generation facility in Queens, NY. In this essential position, you’ll be responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining plant systems and equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient production. This role offers clear advancement opportunities, technical training, and union stability within a critical energy infrastructure environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor power plant systems and components during assigned shifts.
- Perform plant rounds, collect data, and make necessary adjustments to maintain optimal operations.
- Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance such as valve adjustments, oil changes, and filter replacements.
- Apply and remove Lockout / Tagout (LOTO) procedures in accordance with safety standards.
- Serve as fire watch and confined-space monitor when required.
- Respond promptly to abnormal or emergency plant conditions.
- Assist with start-up, shutdown, and troubleshooting of plant systems.
- Maintain accurate records, logs, and reports.
