Naval Facilities Engineering and Expeditionary Warfare Center (NAVFAC EXWC) is seeking an attorney to serve as Assistant or Associate Counsel in the Office of Counsel. This position is located in Port Hueneme, CA at Naval Base Ventura County.
The primary duties of the position will be in the areas of federal acquisition law, fiscal law, utilities / energy savings and performance contracts, the Freedom of Information and Privacy Acts, and ethics / standards of conduct. Duties of the selected attorney will be flexible and may include environmental, civilian personnel and labor law, ethics, technology transfer, as well as other OGC practice areas. Occasional travel may be required. This position is not eligible for remote or 100% telework.
This position has a full performance level of NT-04, which is a GS-14 equivalent, but will be filled at the NT-02, NT-03 or NT-04 level, depending on the qualifications of the successful applicant.
Position Requirements :
- 1-4 years of professional legal experience preferably in federal acquisition law
- Graduated from law school accredited by the American Bar Association
- Be an active member in good standing of the bar of the highest court of a State, US commonwealth, US territory, or the District of Columbia and be admitted to practice before a state or Federal court
- Eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret level security clearance
