Job Description

Join our dynamic Environmental team, where your primary role will be to ensure that the facility and grounds are cleaned, maintained, and comply with environmental regulations. Your efforts will contribute to the upkeep and safety of our property.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sweep facility areas.
• Move materials and scrap metal efficiently.
• Eliminate debris and waste to maintain cleanliness.
• Perform general facility upkeep.
• Engage in production activities in the scrap metal yard.
• Pick, load, and unload shipments.
• Conduct general cleaning and maintenance tasks.
• Dispose of trash and debris by sweeping and shoveling.
• Use pressure washers on equipment.
• Undertake additional tasks as required.

Work Environment

Work in a reputable steel, metal, and auto recycling company with a history spanning over 100 years. The site in Oakland includes both an indoor production area and a large outdoor yard, featuring heavy machinery, moving parts, and loud noises. The environment can be dusty, and the role requires working in the Joint Products department, partially indoors. The dress code includes steel toe shoes, pants, a plain t-shirt or sweater, and a vest provided by the company. There are four open positions with shifts available in the morning and afternoon, including potential Saturday overtime twice a month.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oakland, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00 / hr.
