ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENTIST / GEOLOGIST - FORT WORTH, TX

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Scientist or Geologist to join our Fort Worth office. The qualified individual will provide research and investigative services for technical and environmental report preparation to support the planning, design, and permit approvals for residential and commercial land development projects as well as oil & gas projects. Westwood has a highly experienced and dynamic team of individuals dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients.
Duties and Responsibilities
Communicating and collaborating with project managers, engineers, clients, and government agencies to conduct critical environmental issues analyses following industry and company standards. This may include :
Hydrology reviews
Mapping public lands and easements,
Utilizing GPS and GNSS units for field surveying and mapping,
Utilizing ArcGIS Pro to prepare GIS-based exhibits and data management,
Zoning and permitting reviews,
Soils investigations,
Environmental hazard determinations,
Prepare environmental assessments following industry and company processes,
Conduct Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments,
Assist with gathering data on potentially contaminated sites to include all phases of planning, soil boring and monitoring well installation, monitoring well development, water and soil sampling, vapor sampling, sediment sampling, and ensuring that proper documentation is completed for all stages of the project.
General project assistance for report preparation, peer reviews, technical writing guidance, GIS support, and organizational assistance to meet strict deadlines.
Supporting projects for different markets within Westwood – aviation, land development, renewables and public infrastructure.
Ability to work in the office and out in the field during all times of the year.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Required Experience
Degree in environmental science, geology, or related natural sciences field with 10+ years of experience.
Licensed Professional Engineer or Professional Geologist in the state of Texas (or eligible for licensure in 6-12 months).
Must have the ability to travel periodically to project locations across the State of Texas.
Must have a valid driver's license and be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
Preferred Experience
Experience with property transfer due diligence, including Phase I Environmental Site Assessments.
Proven ability to work productively on multiple projects simultaneously under strict deadlines.
