The GIS Technician will be given the opportunity to gain hands-on experience working on customer projects at SSP Innovations.
The GIS Technician will be exposed to various software programs to help them better understand those programs and outside plant (OSP) concepts.
This role performs several data production functions within a project including analyzing utility maps, geometry and tabular data, sketches, field photographs, imagery, and other data sources.
This is a remote (work from home) position. Job Duties :
- Compile, integrate, edit, and maintain spatial data from a wide variety of sources for inclusion in our Geographic Information System (GIS) and service operation maps or to a customer’s environment.
- Develop scripts that will automate tasks within the GIS software.
- Analyze and correlate data from various sources to be linked to features.
- Assist with investigating and resolving map problems reported.
- Perform data quality control and assurance.
- Occasional involvement in project start-ups and client interaction as needed.
- Produce project specific documentation as needed.
- Consistently exceed the productivity standards per project requirements.
- Consistently exceed the quality standards per project requirements.
- Travel, on a limited basis, as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
