Job description

A company is looking for a GIS Specialist to support the processing and management of external source bathymetry data for navigation products.

Key Responsibilities

Review bathymetry data and metadata for suitability in navigation product updates

Investigate and verify submissions from external data providers for validity and appropriate use

Process submitted data to OCS standard formats and prepare for ingestion into the National Bathymetric Source

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience

5-7 years of experience in GIS, Computer Mapping, and / or Charting fields, with 2-4 years in Hydrography

Experience with data analysis, GIS software development, and database management

Familiarity with geospatial applications, mapping standards, and hydrographic science

Knowledge of common bathymetric data formats and automation opportunities
