What You’ll Contribute to OHM Advisors

As a highly talented Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst, you will be faced with challenging GIS projects in the fields of Engineering, Planning, Architecture, and Water Resources. The individual must be able to demonstrate established knowledge in GIS analysis, cartography, geospatial data management, asset management and project management.

Your Responsibilities :

  • Maintain and update various GIS implementations for our various clients and explore new and exciting innovations in technologies.
  • Become an expert at and keep current with Planning & Asset Management Concepts, Principles, and Practices.
  • Assist with managing GIS projects within the TN, IN, and KY markets.
  • Aid in the development of proposals for new and existing clients.
  • Assist with field data collection using state-of-the-art GPS technology.
  • Develop advanced ArcGIS Enterprise & Online maps / apps.
  • Attend project & professional development meetings.
  • Potential to learn and research advanced technologies and innovations that could include : drone technology, underground locating, LiDAR scanning, 3D modeling, automating processes and services, and building custom tools and scripts.
  • Potentially georeference & digitize construction plans.

Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or related field. A focus on GIS is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in a GIS role.
  • Desire to learn new technologies & methodologies in the GIS field.
  • Advanced knowledge of Esri ArcGIS Software (Desktop, Pro, Online, Enterprise, Drone2Map).
  • Experience in administration of core proprietary systems (AGOL, Enterprise).
  • Proven knowledge of Esri online applications (StoryMaps, Experience Builder, Web App Builder, Dashboards, Notebooks, FieldMaps, Hub).
  • Experience with GPS field data collection is required (Eos, Trimble, Carlson).
  • Experience in generating map products and an understanding of cartographic principles.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills with a positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
  • Must be comfortable with public speaking and being able to lead training sessions & present to large groups of people.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Team-oriented mindset with strong listening and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to travel for fieldwork and project meetings is required. Projected to not exceed 20-30% of work week.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • A background in GIS with a focus related to public utilities and communities is preferred.
  • Experience in scripting and coding (Python, SQL, Arcade, etc.) for automated processes is highly desired.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD is desired, but not required.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator & Photoshop) is desired, but not required.
