Overview :

The Senior Specific Product Specialist (ESRI GIS) will play a pivotal role in managing and enhancing GIS systems within an Army environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in complex data editing, data modeling, data analysis, scripting (including web map scripting), and GIS system performance enhancements.

Qualifications :

  • Must have demonstrated experience applicable to the Army environment in complex data editing, data modeling, data analysis, scripting (including web map scripting), and GIS system performance enhancements.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience using ArcGIS Pro software for data management, maintenance, and analysis.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience using ArcMap extensions, particularly Spatial Analyst and 3D Analyst.
  • Minimum 1 year of data management experience using ArcSDE.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience administering an ArcSDE database.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience using SDSFIE data standards (version 2 or above) for data management.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience using scripts and Model Building in ArcMap and / or ArcServer to automate or customize ArcGIS Pro processes.
  • Experience in data migration from other geospatial data sources such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, LiDAR, or other remote sensing data work.
  • Experience in acquiring and integrating data through the use of Global Positioning Technology (preferably Trimble) or related mobile technologies.
  • This position requires a Bachelors degree in Geography, Geology, Urban Planning, Environmental Science, or a similar / related field and a certificate in Geographic Information Systems (GIS).

Responsibilities :

  • Manage and maintain GIS data, ensuring accuracy and consistency in a complex Army environment.
  • Conduct data editing, modeling, and analysis using advanced GIS tools and techniques.
  • Develop and implement scripts for web mapping and other GIS applications to enhance system performance and functionality.
  • Utilize ArcGIS Pro for comprehensive data management, maintenance, and analytical tasks.
  • Employ ArcMap extensions such as Spatial Analyst and 3D Analyst for specialized GIS tasks.
  • Manage and administer ArcSDE databases, ensuring efficient data storage, retrieval, and management.
  • Implement SDSFIE data standards for effective data management.
  • Automate and customize GIS processes using scripts and Model Building in ArcMap and / or ArcServer.
  • Perform data migration from various geospatial data sources including AutoCAD, MicroStation, LiDAR, and other remote sensing data.

  • Provide technical expertise and support for GIS-related projects and initiatives.

    • Skills and abilities :

  • Strong proficiency in ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, and ArcSDE.
  • Excellent data editing, modeling, and analysis skills.
  • Proficient in scripting for GIS applications, including web map scripting.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

    • Certifications :

  • Relevant GIS certifications are a plus but not required.
