Overview

TRC is looking for an experienced Senior GIS Consultant to join its delivery team and support the development and execution of industry leading solutions for some of North America's largest utilities customers. In this role you will work directly with our customers, our technical teams, and industry partners to position for, respond to and deliver solutions. This role may require travel up to 50%, otherwise it can be accomplished from most locations across the US.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with clients and stakeholders to design and deliver strategic, value add solutions built on GIS technology.
  • Leads the planning, documentation, management, and delivery of solutions for complex projects.
  • Leads collaboration with internal project leads and / or project managers on project requirements, interdependencies, and delivery schedules.
  • Serves as a mentor and lead to junior staff on projects and / or within technical or industry areas.
  • Provides technical expertise in GIS software to stakeholders and clients.
  • Ensures data quality and accuracy for project deliverables.
  • Reinforces recognition of TRC company values for team members on assigned project.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 12+ years related experience in the GIS industry.
  • Proficiency with Esri Software : Extensive experience with Esri's ArcGIS suite, including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, and other Esri applications including Esri services-based architecture.
  • Utilities Domain Knowledge : Expert knowledge of utilities GIS data, including electric, gas, water, or telecommunications, and familiarity with industry-specific data models and standards such as the Esri Utility Network.
  • Expert Knowledge of SAFE FME : Extensive experience with SAFE Software FME Form and Flow for data integration, transformation, and automation.
  • ETL Processes : Demonstrated experience in architecting complex data ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes using SAFE FME or other software / scripting languages.
  • Team Leadership : Experience in leading teams, including task delegation, performance management, and team development.
  • Experience delivering complex projects including planning, execution, and monitoring, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet project deadlines.
  • Quality Assurance : Strong understanding of quality assurance principles and methodologies, including data quality assurance and quality control (QA / QC) processes.
  • Data Management : Skilled in managing, editing, and analyzing spatial data, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
  • Scripting and Automation : Proficiency with scripting languages such as Python for automating data workflows and processes.
  • Integration and Interoperability : Experience with integrating GIS data with other enterprise systems using APIs, web services, and middleware.
  • Problem-Solving Skills : Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to data integration and transformation, with strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Communication Skills : Effective verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with team members, stakeholders, and clients, and to present complex data concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Documentation Skills : Proficiency in documenting technical specifications, workflows, and processes, and in maintaining comprehensive project records.
  • Continuous Improvement : Commitment to continuous improvement of data processes and staying updated with the latest data integration tools and technologies
  • Strong industry perspective in electric, water, or gas.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into proposed technical solutions.
  • Strong client-facing communication and presentation skills with the ability to proactively engage customers and guide them through clear, concise communication techniques.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.
  • A successful candidate for this position has demonstrated experience leading the design and implementation of GIS solutions for successful project delivery. They understand how their work impacts the client's people, processes, and technology to ensure projects have a positive impact and widespread adoption. They work to build a long-term relationship with customers and continually look for opportunities where adding technology can enrich the customer's operations and experience.

  • Compensation : In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

    Other Compensation : Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
