Position Description

The City of Tolleson is seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as an Engineering Technician. This role involves supporting the City's Geographic Information System (GIS) and engineering functions by providing computer-aided mapping, data attribution, and technical assistance. Key responsibilities include maintaining parcel, street, easement, and utility data within GIS; performing CAD drafting for maps and design plans; and reviewing as-built construction plans for compliance with City standards. The position also requires preparing maps and exhibits for Council Reports and public meetings, issuing permits for utilities and right-of-way access, and ensuring the accuracy of utility locations through field inspections and research. Additional duties involve calculating permit costs, maintaining an engineering database, and offering guidance to contractors, developers, and the public regarding engineering information and requirements; and, other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Associate degree in a related field and three (3) years of experience in engineering or GIS field; or an equivalent combination of directly related education and experience. Valid Arizona Class D Driver's License is required.

Job Information

Closing Date : Open until filled Hiring Salary : $31.03-$37.24 Hourly D.O.E.

Salary for Internal Promotion (Refer to Section 7.3 of the Employee Handbook.)

Full salary range for position : $31.03 - $43.44 Hourly
