Job description

Salary: $175,000 - 200,000 per year

Requirements:
  • We are looking for strong analytical thinking and solid troubleshooting capability.
  • We need excellent written and verbal communication skills to clearly share ideas with customers and internal teams.
  • We value a strong sense of ownership, with the ability to drive customer success and satisfaction.
  • We expect the ability to manage priorities independently and deliver work on time.
  • Hands-on experience configuring, deploying, and troubleshooting Cisco or similar vendor solutions is required.
  • You should be able to identify network topologies, build lab environments, and work across multiple technologies to reproduce and resolve issues.
  • A willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to changing business needs is important.
  • Experience gathering business requirements and turning them into practical solutions is needed.
  • You should collaborate effectively with cross-functional groups and work well as part of a team with minimal supervision.
  • Deep expertise in Cisco routing and switching is preferred.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and troubleshooting large enterprise, multi-site, multi-vendor unified communications environments is preferred.
  • Experience with deployment automation, vulnerability remediation, updates, and configuration management for routing and switching systems is preferred.
  • Experience overseeing a team supporting a trouble ticket system is preferred.
  • Familiarity with modern DevOps practices, automated testing tools, and monitoring platforms is preferred.
  • An active CCIE is preferred.
  • A bachelors degree is preferred.
  • You should have at least 10 years of computer networking experience.
  • Ability to pass a US government background check for clearance is required.
Responsibilities:
  • We support one of the largest US government agencies and help maintain a major government network environment.
  • We configure, deploy, and troubleshoot networking technologies across Cisco and other vendor platforms.
  • We design lab setups and use them to replicate issues and develop effective resolutions.
  • We gather operational and business needs and translate them into working technical solutions.
  • We collaborate closely with customers, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
  • We help ensure customer success and maintain a high level of satisfaction.
  • We oversee and support trouble ticket operations as needed.
  • We apply automation, testing, monitoring, and DevOps practices to improve network operations.
  • We handle routing and switching updates, remediation work, and configuration tasks.
  • We work independently while contributing as a reliable teammate on complex technical efforts.

This is a contract, full-time Sr. Network Engineer - Data Center role with a Monday through Friday schedule and hybrid remote work in Raleigh, NC 27609. The position includes 401(k) and 401(k) matching, and the annual pay range is $175,000 to $200,000. A US government clearance will be required, and we will provide the background check.
