Overview
The Director of Government Affairs for NRG will work in conjunction with regional Government Affairs leads to develop advocacy efforts for our home services businesses : Vivint Smart Home and NRG Protects. This individual will be responsible for developing and implementing our public policy objectives, managing trade associations and building strong relationships with key stakeholders at local, state, and federal levels of government to support the Vivint Smart Home and NRG Protects businesses.
Essential Functions : Duties & Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal colleagues and teams, including government and regulatory affairs, legal, communications and business units, to ensure a cohesive approach to advocacy efforts.
- Develop, drive and execute comprehensive government affairs strategies that align with Vivint Smart Home and NRG Protects' business goals.
- Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory issues that impact the smart home and warranty protection industries and provide timely notification to impacted stakeholders.
- Develop collaborative relationships with elected officials, government agencies, and industry associations to advocate for favorable policies and regulations.
- Lobby on key issues through direct communication with Staff and Members on matters of interest to the electronic security and life safety industry.
- Draft and deliver testimony as needed before appropriate committees and officials.
- Coordinate and manage government affairs activities, including public affairs and grassroots initiatives as needed.
- Prepare and deliver internal and external updates, presentations, reports, and other materials as needed.
- Represent Vivint Smart Home and NRG Protects at industry conferences, meetings, and other events including SICC, AICC, SIAC, TMA, ESA and CEDIA.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
