Community Bus Driver

The Riverside Transit Agency is recruiting to fill openings effective July 1st, 2026 for our Full Time Community Bus Driver position. This position will operate the Agency's transit bus fleet (of less than 40 feet) and provide safe, dependable and courteous public transportation service for the citizens of the RTA service area.

While most Community Bus Driver assignments will be located in Hemet, please be advised that this may also involve assignments at our Riverside Division. Applicants must be available to work 7 days per week, including holidays and all shifts.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities

Essential job duties include but not limited to :

• Operate Agency transit and support vehicles in both revenue and non-revenue service;
• Maintain an established schedule along a designated route;
• Be available to operate Agency buses on pre-assigned shifts;
• Be responsible for the safety of passengers;
• Collect proper fares according to Agency tariffs;
• Give transit information;
• Collect patronage and revenue data as assigned;
• Prepare report forms;
• Report equipment defects or failures;
• And other related tasks as assigned.

Qualification Guidelines

Requirements :

At the time of application and appointment of the position : A current, valid, and non-restricted Class B Driver's License is required. Additionally, a DMV Driver's Record Report printout (issued not more than 30 days prior to date of application) must be provided with the application. You must obtain a DRIVER'S RECORD REPORT from the DMV kiosk / online history printout process.
