BASIC FUNCTION :
High-quality instructional materials (HQIM) are among the most impactful elements of a student's education. HQIM allows students to engage more deeply and meaningfully with the Texas standards and supports teachers in ensuring all students have access to high-quality and rigorous grade-level content. As George I Sanchez Charter continues to face high levels of learning loss, evidence shows that HQIM can help close these gaps. This strong foundation implementation seeks to dramatically improve the quality of curriculum and instruction in K-5 Literacy and Math classrooms to accelerate student achievement and learning. The Curriculum Implementation Specialist agrees to provide data on the qualifications and experience as required in this position.
The Curriculum Implementation Specialist serves as part of the Instructional Leadership Team and is responsible for bringing evidence-based practices into classrooms by working with and supporting teachers with the goal of increasing student engagement, improving student achievement, and building teacher capacity with the daily use of high-quality instructional materials (HQIM). He or she works as a district instructional leader with K-5 classroom teachers to support student learning through the effective implementation of HQIM. The Curriculum Implementation Specialist focuses on individual and group professional development that will expand and refine the understanding about researched-based effective instruction and curriculum implementation.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelor's degree
Texas Teacher Certification
Minimum 5 years of elementary classroom teaching experience
Minimum 3 years of instructional leadership role
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
Master's degree in educational leadership, or equivalent
Strong knowledge of Eureka and Amplify for elementary
Strong knowledge of effective teaching strategies
Bilingual (Spanish)
Knowledge of strategies and materials for the education of special populations
Strong oral and written communication skills
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES :
- Office & classroom environments at all school sites in the district Provide all teachers with professional development to implement effective HQIM instructional strategies.
- Demonstrate proper implementation of effective HQIM instructional strategies in the lesson internalization process by creating exemplary HQIM lessons.
- Demonstrate proper implementation of effective HQIM instructional strategies in the lesson delivery process by teaching exemplar HQIM lessons in classrooms.
- Evaluate and provide feedback on the proper implementation of effective strategies by monitoring HQIM lesson internalization samples.
- Evaluate and provide feedback on the proper HQIM implementation of effective strategies by providing real-time coaching.
- Collect data related to the implementation of effective HQIM instructional strategies and its impact on student engagement and achievement.
- Analyze student engagement and achievement data to make recommendations on district and campus improvement plans.
- Present student engagement and achievement data to various stakeholder audiences.
- Provide all teachers with professional development to implement the district adopted curriculum.
- Demonstrate proper implementation of the district adopted curriculum by creating and teaching exemplary lessons.
- Evaluate and provide feedback on the proper implementation of district adopted curriculum by monitoring lesson plan submissions.
- As needed, become an active member of specific instructional leadership teams and carry-out duties accordingly.
- Conduct various teacher meetings, such as HQIM PLCs, Department Meetings, Data Meetings, etc.
- Attend professional development workshops and present information to campus and district instructional leadership.
- Teach classes as needed.
- Performs all other duties and services assigned by supervisors.
