The Psychiatry Faculty is a member of the Touro University California College of Education and Health Sciences
Joint Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies / Master of Public Health Program. Primary
responsibilities include curriculum development, teaching and evaluating students.
Responsibilities
1. In utilizing the currently established Touro University Manhattan curriculum, this position will create, develop and modify a behavioral health elective track specific for Touro University CA Joint MSPAS / MPH students.
2. Actively participates in the processes of :
a) providing student instruction,
b) evaluating student performance,
c) creating remedial instruction as needed,
d) designing, implementing, coordinating, evaluating curriculum and
e) evaluating the curriculum.
3. In conjunction with the Program Director, Director of Didactic Education, Director of Clinical Education, and MSPAS / MPH Faculty, participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the curriculum that conforms with the Program’s mission, goals, and objectives.
a. Assist in identifying core knowledge, skills, and attitudes requisite to development of the competencies required for successful completion of board examinations and safe practice at the time of entry to the profession.
b. Participate in the development and implementation of psychiatry topics for the didactic and clinical curriculum.
c. Assist in the creation, development and implementation of terminal goals and learning objectives for each course of study, to include the didactic and clinical phases.
d. Serve as course director for elective courses which includes developing, organizing, delivery (teaching) and evaluation of course content and objectives and the guidance and management of adjunct faculty or lecturers involved in those courses.
e. Develop and deliver lecture and laboratory material content that meet course objectives.
f. Develop and implement evaluation tools to assess the student’s knowledge of course content as outlined in the course objectives.
4. Participate in scholarly and research activities to professional groups and journals related to the course.
5. Participate in faculty development activities and faculty development retreats and seminars.
6. Assist with psychiatry didactic course, clinical year related psychiatry teaching and related activities at callbacks, and summative courses.
7. Develop and recruit clinical rotations in behavioral health / psychiatry for the Joint MSPAS / MPH Program.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or higher from a US accredited college or university
- A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience as PA, NP, LCSW / LMFT, DO / MD
- Preference : A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience with an interest in public health
Maximum Salary
USD $75,000.00 / Yr.
Minimum Salary
USD $60,000.00 / Yr.
