Summary of Position
A successful project manager will demonstrate effective leadership of project teams. Project managers
manage contract documents, subcontractor performance, vendor compliance, budgets, costs, safety,
profitability, and schedule. The ultimate goal for an IE2 project manager is to exceed customer
expectations to ensure enthusiastic, strong relationships that lead to future opportunities.
Essential Duties:
• Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion, monitoring progress to
ensure the project is progressing in a timely and cost-effective manner
• Review projects in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs
• Maintain constructive relationships and communication with all project stakeholders
• Establish and coordinate overall project schedule
• Facilitate positive and effective project meetings
• Maintain and enhance profitability of projects
• Issue and monitor contracts (owner and subcontractors)
• Understand our accounting systems and principals of construction finances
• Understand all construction contract types
• Demonstrate a clear understanding of all paperwork including RFI's, submittals, meeting minutes,
and change orders
• Maintain effective project financial controls
• Conduct project buyout
• Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain permits and licenses
• Analyze, manage and mitigate risks
• Assist in development of new business by maintaining positive customer relationships
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
• Expert knowledge of commercial construction management, including building products, safety
regulations, local and state building codes, general construction processes, practices and work
sites
• Strong skill to demonstrate and perform the above essential duties
• Must possess excellent written and verbal communications skills to effectively communicate via
email, on the phone and in person
• Ability to effectively apply technology to perform job duties including familiarity with project
management software and construction accounting systems
• Strong leadership and mentoring abilities
• Must have at least six (6) years of construction, architecture, or construction engineering
experience. Bachelor's degree in construction related field.
• Possess above average analytical skills with the ability to read, interpret and develop schedules,
statistical reports and calculations
• Demonstrate ability to utilize Microsoft Office
• Ability to work within strict time frames and motivate project stakeholders to meet project
deadlines
Key Result Areas:
1. Demonstrate effective and positive project leadership
2. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of construction projects including blueprint reading,
typical trades work, schedules, and all project documentation
3. Ensure project finances are complete, updated, and the project fee is protected and enhanced
4. Work collaboratively with superintendents to execute effective and efficient projects
5. Build strong relationships with customers and architects that lead to upcoming project
opportunities
