Augusta University's Department of Art and Design is seeking to fill a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Graphic Design, anticipated to begin August 2026. We seek individuals who can teach entry-level and advanced courses in graphic design, including UI / UX, motion graphics, design history, typography, and design for print and publication, as well as foundation-level 2D design as needed. This position carries a 2 / 2 teaching load with opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration, community engagement, and professional practice. Responsibilities
- Teach two studio courses per semester in foundation and graphic design (BFA and BA concentrations).
- Develop and enhance departmental curricula while contributing to program growth.
- Mentor and advise undergraduate students, supporting portfolio development and professional preparation.
- Maintain an active program of creative research or scholarship with regional, national, or broader impact.
- Contribute to departmental, college, and university service through committees and community engagement.
Required Qualifications
MFA in Graphic Design or a closely related field, or equivalent terminal degree in the appropriate discipline. In exceptional cases, candidates with equivalent professional experience and demonstrated accomplishments may be considered.
Assistant Professor - Terminal degree (or nearing its completion), or its equivalent in training, ability, and / or experience.

This position is academic year based and typically works August through May, depending on dates outlined in offer letter and yearly contract.
