This person will work directly with the Senior Vice President, Sales to drive our development and growth within national accounts in the conventional (Grocery) retail space . The ideal candidate must have experience in successfully growing CPG brands in brick-and-mortar national retailers. This job will be incredibly rewarding for those professionals seeking to build great brands and organizations in their careers. This role can be remote and will likely require significant travel (~25-50%). Primary Responsibilities : Own all aspects of management for key national accounts, including annual growth planning, assortment planning, promotional, merchandising and shopper marketing plans, and day-to-day management. (specifically experience at the largest grocery retailers : Kroger, Albertsons Co, Ahold / Delhaize are valued). Develop relationships with key account personnel (e.g., buyers, planners, analysts, etc.) Delivers distribution, shelf management, pricing and promotional objectives for key strategic accounts. Direct brokers, distributors and internal resources to accomplish sales and distribution objectives. Work seamlessly with our broker partners to maximize our growth and presence Execute vendor and item set up forms and online applications, promotional and merchandising programs in retailer systems. Implement retailer promotional plans to maximize incremental sales through effective trade investments. Manage the P&L / financial records including sales, forecast, promotional calendar and expenses, negotiated deals and terms, and profitability. Create and deliver sales presentations. Self-sufficient and highly detail orientated Provide ad hoc sales and inventory analyses. Identify and pursue business development opportunities. Supporting the Sales forecast and Demand Planning Team to forecast inventory as accurately as possible. Supporting ad hoc projects across all Supply Chain functions (Accounting, Inventory Management, Order Flow, Customer Support). Other Duties as assigned Experience and Requirements : Minimum ten years of CPG experience calling on major retailers and buying teams, with at least five years calling on the largest national grocery accounts (i.e Kroger, Publix, and / or Albertson’s,) experience in the drug channel would also be valued. This includes a strong experience and understanding of promotional and merchandise planning, broker partnerships as well as buyer relationship development. Strong Business Intelligence : Strong Excel skills and ability to perform a variety of Excel functions as well as analyze data. Proven examples of working in Excel, building models, and using data to influence decisions are required. Attention to Detail : Ability to oversee projects with multiple, time-dependent tasks and deliver reliably. Excel and PowerPoint Skills; must be competent in managing large data sets. Category Leadership : Being a thought partner with national grocers to maintain a category centric view on growing Duke Cannon’s business. This requires a comprehensive understanding of category dynamics, competitive sets, national brands and challenger brands and how to deliver this information in a simple and digestible manner. Creative thinker with the ability to tell a story with data. Project Management : Leading projects from beginning to end across internal functions and with customers. Develop and manage scope, timeline, work plan and deliverables for projects; manage incoming project requests and maintain project queue. Resourceful : Being scrappy – i.e., accomplishing objectives with fewer resources. At times, the candidate will need to find new and creative ways to achieve goals. Ability to multi-task and work in fast-paced, high energy and growth environment. Intellectual Curiosity : The ideal candidate will not only be able to execute tasks, but also provide creative thought to bring new thinking to the table. The Team Member will need to improve our systems and processes, find new ways of lowering costs, and generate ideas to drive revenue. Personable : Since this position requires direct interfacing with Team Members and customers, the ideal candidate possesses an ability to communicate on point, personably, and represent the brand well.
