Job Description and Duties
This position is Until Filled but has Final Filing Date of 7 / 20 / 2024.
Performs heavy physical labor such as digging and / lifting, mows and edges lawns, keeps sidewalks and streets swept and cleaned, maintains sprinkler systems : pressurized and non-pressurized lines in good working order; refers to schematic / blueprints for the location of control boxes and valve locations in order to repair and maintain in good working order.
Must be organized and able to work independently and to maintain regularly scheduled grounds maintenance. Work involves exposure to unusual elements, such as confined spaces, uneven ground surfaces, extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, unpleasant odors, and loud noises and may involve exposure to hazardous chemicals or physical risks which requires following basic safety precautions.
May encounter live or dead insects, reptiles, rodents or other wildlife in the performance of duties. Requires visual and / or auditory inspection of proper operation of machinery / equipment or auditory inspection of proper operating equipment.
Will consider a Training & Development for Groundskeeper
Working Conditions
Ability to operate and maintain motorized driven equipment; work in hot, dry, dusty conditions; performs general laboring tasks related to grounds and gardening maintenance work. This position / classification has been designated as a safety-sensitive position.
Wear safety equipment during work performance i.e. ear plugs, dust masks, eye goggles, face shield, latex gloves, cloth gloves, rubber boots or rain gear, aprons and back support.
Lead Groundskeeper job requires climbing on ladders, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, lifting heavy and bulky objects (up to 75 lbs.), and standing for prolonged periods of time on hard surfaces. Read and write to the positions classification level.
