Responsibilities:
The Business Development Manager - Group Sales is responsible for generating new group business and expanding market share through proactive prospecting, strategic outreach, and relationship development.
This role focuses on identifying untapped opportunities, cultivating new accounts, and driving qualified group leads into the hotel to support revenue and occupancy objectives.
The ideal candidate is a hunter-minded sales professional with strong market intelligence, disciplined prospecting habits, and a track record of closing new group business within the luxury or upper-upscale hospitality segment.
Key Responsibilities:
New Business Development
- Proactively identify, target, and solicit new group accounts across key verticals (corporate, association,
- SMERF, incentive, etc.).
- Conduct structured prospecting campaigns including cold outreach, client visits, networking events, and industry trade shows.
- Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline aligned with revenue goals.
- Secure site visits and convert opportunities into contracted group business.
Revenue Generation
- Drive incremental group revenue aligned with annual sales and revenue targets.
- Strategically position the hotel to maximize ADR and total revenue contribution.
- Collaborate with Revenue Management to optimize pricing strategies and competitive positioning.
- Track and report prospecting activity, conversion ratios, and pipeline performance.
Market Intelligence & Strategy
- Monitor local and national market trends, competitor activity, and demand patterns.
- Identify emerging business sectors and new demand generators within the Denver market.
- Develop targeted sales strategies to penetrate priority segments.
Relationship Management
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with meeting planners, corporate decision-makers, and third-party intermediaries.
- Represent the hotel at industry events, client fur ns, and networking opportunities.
- Maintain accurate account records and activity documentation within the CRM system.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
A four-year college degree in hospitality management, marketing, business or related degree or equivalent experience is required
- 1-2 years of Luxury Hotel Sales Preferred with a focus in Business Development, Required 3-4 years minimum of Hotel Sales with a focus in Business Development
Ability to multitask and work long irregular hours, weekends and evenings
Successful candidate must possess legal work authorization in the United States
