The Security Guard is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of facility residents, employees, visitors and guests.

General Duties:

• Respond to all facility emergencies/codes in a timely manner and facilitate the resolution as needed

• Ensure cameras are monitored, guests and visitors are signed in, resident safety checks are performed as scheduled and emergency response is timely and appropriate for the situation

• Investigate all allegations of reports of missing items from residents, in cooperation with the nursing staff, families and local law enforcement authorities

• Investigate suspicious activities or possessions of employees, visitors and/or residents

• Coordinate efforts with the Maintenance and Housekeeping departments to resolve safety hazards or issues of non-compliance as identified

• Oversee incoming and outgoing mail functions

• Patrol premises regularly to maintain order and establish presence

• Remove wrongdoers and trespassers from the facility as needed

• Secure all exits, doors and windows throughout the facility

• Submit reports of daily surveillance activity and important occurrences.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of safety and security practices, procedures and guidelines

• Ability to manage department staff and function as a team player

• Demonstrate excellent customer service skills

• Ability to meet departmental objectives utilizing critical thinking skills
