The Role

ShelfGenie is expanding rapidly, and we need help to keep up with demand.

We're looking for skilled handymen and craftsmen to install our custom Glide-Out shelving in clients' existing cabinets. The work is part-time, and because our clients trust the people we send, it often turns into additional side work — remodeling, repairs, and fix-up projects around the home.

A great fit for handymen, cabinet refacing pros, carpenters, kitchen and bath remodelers, or anyone looking for meaningful supplemental income.

The most important tool you'll bring isn't in your truck — it's how you communicate. You are ShelfGenie in that client's home, and you're our eyes and ears back to the franchise owner. The installers who do this well create clients for life.

Taking Care of the Client

• Reach out within 24 hours of the job-sold email — introduce yourself and set the measurement appointment
• Show up on time, treat the home with respect, and answer every question patiently
• Confirm the install date, arrival window, and what to expect
• Text the client when you're on your way
• Walk them through the finished product, clean up completely, and thank them

Taking Care of the Owner

• Submit measurements into the portal within 48 hours of the appointment so the owner can review and approve
• Report damage, missing parts, or any concern immediately — never on install day
• Flag reorders and manufacturing claims right away and follow them through to resolution
• Keep job notes complete and document anything left outstanding

The Craft

• Pick up product from R&L Carriers in Georgetown, KY within 24 hours of arrival
• Unpackage and inspect for damage and missing parts within 48 hours of pickup
• Take accurate measurements and confirm the design will work before it's built
• Install to ShelfGenie standards and to the client's genuine satisfaction
• Record final payment and close the job out clean
• Follow all safety rules and leave every home better than you found it

What Success Looks Like

• Clients hear from you within 24 hours — always
• Measurements in within 48 hours
• Product picked up within 24 hours, inspected within 48
• Five-star reviews and clients who ask for you by name
• Almost no reorders or claims, because you got it right the first time

What You Bring

• Experience as a handyman, carpenter, or in general maintenance
• All necessary state licenses and insurance
• Reliable transportation to and from jobs
• Dependability, professionalism, and good time management
• Real patience and warmth with people — many of our clients are seniors
• Knowledge of OSHA job site safety and of carpentry methods, tools, and equipment
