About the Role :
A leading investment advisory firm is seeking a Data Management Manager Security Master to oversee a team of 7-10 professionals and drive data governance, security master file (SMF) management, and operational excellence. This position plays a key role in managing $200B+ AUM across fixed income, structured products, and alternative investments.
The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in data management within a fixed-income asset management firm (preferably in the insurance sector ). This is a high-impact leadership role requiring expertise in security master data, stakeholder management, and process optimization.
Compensation : $350K - $400K base salary + benefits
Relocation Assistance : Available for top candidates
Key Responsibilities :
Data Management & Governance
- Oversee Security Master File (SMF) setup, maintenance, and exception processing across multiple asset classes, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain "golden source" data integrity and enforce risk controls within investment, accounting, and compliance systems.
- Troubleshoot data errors and drive continuous process improvement.
- Align team operations with the firms long-term data strategy and governance framework.

Qualifications & Experience :
10+ years of experience in data management / security master within a fixed-income asset management firm (insurance focus preferred).
Deep knowledge of financial products , including Fixed Income, Structured Products, and Alternative Investments.
Experience managing Security Master data and risk controls within investment operations.
Strong expertise with State Street's PAM, Bloomberg, Markit EDM, and ThinkFolio (preferred).
Understanding of SQL, ETL, and database systems for data automation and optimization.
Proven leadership experience managing a high-performing team in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Strong business acumen, risk awareness, and compliance expertise.
