Whether it's an educational field trip, fun summer camps, farm-fresh products or events which blend learning and celebration, a quality experience awaits every guest. Our team at Greenacres is passionate and dedicated to our Mission and brings inspiration to all our endeavors.

Our unwavering commitment shines through in how we embrace our operating values - Grace, Generative, Giving, Good Neighbor Policy, and Green . Our team always aims for excellence, prioritizing Quality, Quality, Quality (QQQ) in every endeavor. We thrive in a collaborative environment where teamwork leads to achievements. More than a workplace, Greenacres is a career, a lifestyle and a place to wholeheartedly embrace the Mission and Values set forth by our visionary Founders, Louis and Louise Nippert. Here, dedication isn't just a requirement; it's a way of life.

The Agriculture Education Manager is deeply committed to the mission and values of Greenacres. As Agriculture Education Manager, you'll shape how thousands of students experience agriculture. Leading educators and teaching children how to connect learning to real land, animals, and food systems.

This role is responsible for leading a team of four Agriculture and Equine Education Site Supervisors, supporting expansion to new sites as they arise, and overseeing the development and implementation of agriculture-based curriculum. The Agriculture Education Manager also plays a key role in onboarding, supporting, and leading education staff within the Agriculture Education department.

The ability to build a strong culture, unify a newer team, and coach for excellence in the informal education space is critical for the team. A strong and consistent communicator is a best fit for this role.

This position reports to the Senior Director of Education and works collaboratively and communicates effectively with other Education Managers, Education Operations, as well as the Livestock, Equine, and Garden teams, to ensure all programming reflects Greenacres' mission and values and fosters a culture of transparency, honesty, and integrity.

Responsibilities of the Agriculture Education Manager include:

  • Hire, supervise, train, evaluate, and develop Agriculture Education Site Supervisors and educators
  • Lead and support the development and implementation of educational plans for current and future program sites
  • Conduct ongoing program evaluation and implement improvements as needed
  • Maintain accurate agriculture education program logs and programming records
  • Serve as a substitute educator at all four Agriculture and Equine Education sites as needed
  • Communicate effectively across locations and between GAF departments to problem-solve and innovate
  • Lead and facilitate regular team meetings
  • Hold Site Supervisors accountable for staff management, program quality, and program development
  • Complete administrative and reporting duties as required
  • Coach and develop Site Supervisors' leadership and management skills
  • Collaborate with departments across GAF to build partnerships, align priorities, and achieve shared organizational goals
  • Partner with Site Supervisors to prepare and propose annual programming budgets for each site to the Senior Director of Education and CFO
  • Monitor and review monthly actuals versus budget, identifying trends and addressing variances
  • Support the professional development of Agriculture and Equine Education staff, collaborating with Livestock, Garden, and Equine teams on cross-functional opportunities
  • Attend events to represent Greenacres through presentations to public and community groups
  • Communicate and coordinate effectively with the Livestock, Equine, and Garden teams to ensure high-quality, mission-aligned programming, and provide operational support as appropriate

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in education or comparable academic discipline or equivalent experientially gained knowledge.
  • 4+ years proven management/supervisory experience.
  • 6+ years of demonstrable education and agriculture, or related, experience preferred.
  • Passion for educating school-age children utilizing authentic agriculture assets.
  • Strong knowledge, skill, and experience in livestock, equine, and/or garden production with sustainable methods.
  • Knowledge of regenerative agriculture through holistic management farm practices.
  • Proven ability to initiate, organize and implement plans.
  • High attention to detail and excellent judgment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions, including lifting up to 50 pounds and prolonged standing, walking, sitting, and working in varied indoor and outdoor environments, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to multiple Greenacres sites and campuses, which currently include Indian Hill, OH, Oldenburg, IN, Miami Township Clermont Co., and Felicity, OH.
  • Contribute to a strong organizational culture by supporting teammates, encouraging collaboration, and promoting a positive workplace environment.
  • Ability to manage and lead a team of dedicated agriculture educators to assure QQQ and our values of Grace, Good Neighbor Policy and Green.
