Job Description
Special Educator I, II, or III
Location : McClain County Health Department, may travel to Grady, Hughes, Pottawatomie and Seminole Counties.
Salary : $45,000.00 - $61,000.00 based on education and experience.
Full Time / Part Time : Full Time
Work Schedule : Monday-Friday
Primary Hours : 8 : 00 am – 5 : 00 pm
Position Description :
Positions in this job family are assigned responsibilities involving providing individual and family services to enhance the learning, development, and social-emotional skills of children with developmental delays as well as promote literacy and understanding of early cognitive concepts while monitoring progress toward goals.

Minimum Qualifications :
Level I : Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education or a related field from an accredited college or university and possession of a valid teaching certificate issued by the Oklahoma State Department of Education, certified in Special Education preferred, plus the ability to assess / evaluate children’s cognitive, social, emotional, communication, motor and adaptive abilities to develop educational outcomes to enhance school readiness.
Level II : Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education or a related field from an accredited college or university and possession of a valid teaching certificate in Special Education issued by the Oklahoma State Department of Education plus one year of post-baccalaureate special education teaching experience. Plus the ability to assess / evaluate children’s cognitive, social, emotional, communication, motor and adaptive abilities to develop educational outcomes to enhance school readiness.
Level III : Master’s degree in Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education or a related field from an accredited college or university and possession of a valid teaching certificate in Special Education issued by the Oklahoma State Department of Education. Plus the ability to assess / evaluate children’s cognitive, social, emotional, communication, motor and adaptive abilities to develop educational outcomes to enhance school readiness.

This position is set in an office environment. While performing the duties of the job, employees are frequently required to stand, walk, lift, and reach. Applicants must be willing to perform all job-related travel associated with this position.
