Our growing client is looking for entry-level to senior-level machine tool technicians . Entry-level techs can advance into a field service position and eventually a senior field service technician for metal cutting machine tools. This is a great opportunity for anyone looking for an apprenticeship or has level 1 experience.
Description :
The position requires electrical and / or mechanical aptitude with knowledge of tools needed to perform such tasks
Extensive travel will be required up to 90% of the time
Overtime with proper approvals and occasional weekend and holiday work hours will be required, on an as-needed basis
Full PC computer-related skills are required
Primary Responsibilities :
Installation and safe operation of CNC machine tools
Installation of retrofit components in the field or in the facilities
Setup and installation in customer plant facilities
Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical malfunctions at the customer facility independently, without direct supervision
Written documentation of reported problems, via field service reports and additional reporting methods and policies developed by the company, on observation, troubleshooting and root cause analysis of the actual condition and clear, concise description of the corrective measures
Support and assist staff on interdepartmental projects and special tasks / activities as directed by management
Requirements For Apprentice :
Good oral and written communication
High level of computer literacy and with most commercially available PC applications software
Requirements for Level 1 :
A minimum of a (2) two-year Associates degree in an industrial technical field or equivalent vocational school / apprenticeship with an emphasis on CNC machine tool mechanical / electrical systems
2 years of service experience in machine tool or equivalent field
In lieu of the associate's degree a minimum of 5 years of machine tool field service or machine tool assembly experience is required
