Job description

Location: Southwest Houston, TX, or Dallas, TX

Shape the Future with Us.

At Lubrizol, we’re transforming the industry through science, sustainability, and a culture of inclusion. As part of our global team, you’ll be empowered to make a real impact—on your career, your community, and the world around you.

How You’ll Make an Impact

The Talent Administration Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing talent administration processes and the HR & Employee Support Center case management function for OxyChem, a sister company to Lubrizol. This role ensures seamless execution of new hire and employee lifecycle processes, compliance, employee support case management, and Workday data integrity. The manager leads teams responsible for onboarding and HR support, drives process improvements, and collaborates closely with HR, Payroll, Technology, and other stakeholders to ensure efficient, accurate, and employee‑centric service delivery.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Supervise the New Hire team and HR & Employee Case Management team; duties include goal setting, performance assessment, time approval/tracking, work scheduling, and compensation planning.
  • Ensure high-quality‑ service delivery by setting clear expectations, correcting errors promptly, and preventing repeat issues.
  • Oversee team workflow, prioritize tasks, and ensure deadlines and service-level commitments are consistently met.
  • Provide daily consultation and support to team members on atypical or escalated scenarios involving complex onboarding, HR transactions, or employee inquiries
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide coaching, and support professional growth and development across both teams.
  • Supervise day-to-day HR & Employee Support Center operations, ensuring timely, accurate handling and escalation of HR transactions and inquiries.
  • Resolve complex or escalated employee and manager questions in collaboration with HR partners and leaders.
  • Ensure compliance with documented HR policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Maintain and enhance team procedures, controls, workflows, and documentation for HR service delivery.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by manager; assist with projects.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Maintain work rapport, through direct interaction, with members of the Talent Acquisition, University Relations, HR Operations, Payroll, Relocation, Visa Coordination, and the HR community.
  • Work closely with HR, Payroll, and HR Operations to understand data issues and ensure continuing accuracy of forms and other communications delivered by the New Hire team.
  • Foster productive working relationships across the broader HR ecosystem to support efficient and consistent employee experience delivery.

Process Oversight & Problem Solving

  • Problem solve and support the team on issues arising from interactions with others (employees, candidates, and service vendors).
  • Troubleshoot process workflows, HR cases, and Workday data issues; recommend system or procedural enhancements.
  • Support employees, candidates, and managers in resolving issues related to onboarding, HR transactions, and Workday navigation.
  • Audit onboarding and HR support cases, coach teams on tracking tools (watch reports, dashboards), and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Training, Documentation & Knowledge Management

  • Develop and maintain staffing, onboarding, and HR operations reference materials—SOPs, job aids, knowledge articles, presentations, tutorials, and guides.
  • Deliver training to employees, managers, and team members on HR processes, new or updated procedures, and system functionality.
  • Audit and maintain all aspects of the team’s communication channel/platform; ensure content, organization, and access permissions are kept current.

System Testing & Compliance

  • Monitor Workday for accurate tracking, reporting, and maintenance of employee data; ensure data integrity in partnership with Data Governance.
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of Workday fundamentals — Supervisory Organizations, Position Management, Custom Organizations, and Business Processes.
  • Collaborate with HR Technology to implement enhancements and new functionality; participate in system testing for updates related to offer, onboarding, or HR support processes.

Required Qualifications that Enable Your Success

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of HR operations experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Hands-on Workday experience with the ability to navigate and transact across core modules.
  • Experience in staffing administration and applying HR policies and procedures.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with proven people management and staff development skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated ability to design processes, create SOPs, develop knowledge content, and deliver training; experience supporting HR or case management systems is preferred.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to interpret HR case data to identify trends and drive process improvements (preferred).
  • Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities accurately and within deadlines.
  • Customer-focused and effective under pressure, maintaining professionalism in fast‑paced or challenging situations.
  • Collaborative, adaptable, and able to thrive in a service-oriented environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly and navigate tense circumstances with composure.

Preferred Qualifications that Drive you Forward

  • Experience supporting Workday in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA or similar ERP ecosystems strongly preferred.
  • Prior HR Experience
  • Workday certification.
