Benefits :Position Summary
The Practice Manager is responsible for managing daily operations, performance, and compliance within a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). This role requires strong leadership to manage clinic efficiency, patient flow, financial performance, and regulatory compliance, ensuring the highest quality of patient-centered care. The Practice Manager will work closely with clinical and administrative staff, providing support, mentorship, and implementing strategies for enhanced service delivery and operational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Operational Management
Lead and manage day-to-day operations for assigned clinics, ensuring efficient patient flow, quality service delivery, and high patient satisfaction.
Manage staffing needs, including recruitment, onboarding, and performance management for administrative and clinical support teams.
Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure clinic productivity, patient outcomes, and service efficiency.
Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement strategic plans aligned with organizational goals and community health needs.
Patient Experience and Quality Assurance
Ensure a high-quality patient experience by enforcing policies on customer service, patient confidentiality, and quality of care.
Develop and oversee quality improvement initiatives, tracking outcomes and making adjustments to optimize care and patient satisfaction.
Collaborate with the Quality and Compliance departments to ensure all clinical operations comply with HRSA, HIPAA, OSHA, and other federal, state, and local regulations.
Financial and Budget Management
Develop and monitor budgets for clinical operations, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficient resource utilization.
Collaborate with the billing and finance departments to improve revenue cycle performance, including accurate coding, billing, and collections.
Track financial performance, including monthly revenue and expense reports, to inform decision-making and ensure sustainable operations.
Compliance and Risk Management
Ensure FQHC policies are compliant with federal, state, and local regulations, particularly HRSA, Joint Commission, and FQHC- specific requirements.
Identify, mitigate, and manage operational risks, ensuring staff compliance with policies and protocols, and coordinating with risk management teams as needed.
Maintain updated knowledge of healthcare regulations, reporting requirements, and industry best practices, implementing changes as required.
Community Engagement and Advocacy
Foster relationships with community partners to enhance service outreach, patient engagement, and program development.
Represent the health center by building awareness of services and strengthening community trust and partnerships.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelors degree in healthcare administration, Public Health, Business Administration, or a related field required; Masters degree preferred.
Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive management experience in healthcare operations, ideally within an FQHC or similar safety-net setting.
- Registered Nurse preferred.
Strong understanding of FQHC standards, including HRSA requirements, value-based care, and community health needs.
Skills and Competencies
Proven leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff in a high-paced, diverse work environment.
Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare compliance, risk management, and regulatory standards.
Financial acumen, including budgeting, financial analysis, and revenue cycle management.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Proficiency in electronic health record (ECW) systems and healthcare technology.
