Who You Are

You are an experienced healthcare construction professional who takes pride in leading teams with integrity and care. You thrive in dynamic environments, anticipate needs before they arise, and set a high standard for safety, quality, and collaboration on the job site. You enjoy motivating and guiding others, building strong relationships with trade partners, and resolving challenges with professionalism. You are energized by working on complex healthcare projects where precision, communication, and hospitality are equally important. This role may be filled by either a union or non-union employee, and we welcome candidates from both backgrounds.

How Youll Contribute

Project Leadership & Site Oversight

  • Lead and supervise all on-site construction activities from start to finish, ensuring projects are completed on schedule and to specifications.
  • Oversee multiple projects simultaneously and serve as the primary point of contact for field staff and trade partners.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized job site, ensuring proactive compliance with all safety regulations.

Team & Trade Partner Coordination

  • Estimate staffing needs, schedule crews effectively, and ensure trade partner alignment with project timelines.
  • Communicate expectations clearly and host weekly foremen meetings to align the team.
  • Conduct quality inspections of trade partner and field staff work.
  • Scheduling & Procurement

  • Create, update, and distribute full project schedules, including weekly 3-week lookaheads.
  • Order materials, schedule inspections, and troubleshoot schedule or design conflicts.
  • Administration & Communication

  • Maintain daily job site work records.
  • Act as a hospitable point of contact for internal and external partners, facilitating clear, timely communication.
  • Resolve issues quickly and professionally, mobilizing the right parties as needed.
  • What Youll Bring

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a superintendent in commercial construction, with experience building healthcare facilities.
  • OSHA certification.
  • Experience leading and scheduling integrated teams, including trade partners.
  • Proficiency in construction management software (Procore preferred), scheduling software. (Outbuild preferred), and Microsoft Office / Google Workspace.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural plans and specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of job site safety regulations, permitting, and inspection processes.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

    What Will Set You Apart

  • Certified Healthcare Constructor (CHC) certification.
  • Previous experience working inside active hospital facilities.
  • ICRA certification training (8-hour minimum; 24-hour course preferred).
  • Experience using Procore and Outbuild software.

    Compensation & Benefits

    At Gardner, we value great people above all else. This role can be filled by either a union or non-union employee, and we encourage all qualified candidates to apply.

    Non-union employees will receive :

  • Annual Salary : $110,000 - $150,000 (paid weekly) + discretionary bonus.

  • Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • This is a full-time, in-person role.
  • This role requires sustained physical activity and the ability to work comfortably in a variety of job site conditions.
  • Youll regularly walk, stand, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and use your hands and arms in repetitive movements. You must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds and work with tools and equipment such as hand tools, table saws, drill presses, hammers, saws, planers, and ladders. Climbing ladders, working on scaffolding, and maneuvering in tight or elevated spaces may be necessary, and physical exertion should be expected throughout the day.
  • Visual and auditory awareness is essential for safety and communication.
  • While performing these duties, you may be exposed to various weather conditions including heat, cold, and humidity, depending on the season and job site. Renovation work may involve exposure to dust, noise, or hazardous materials within existing structures. At times, the environment may be unusually loud or dusty, and all appropriate safety measures will be in place to ensure your well-being.
