At NorthBay Health, the Creative Services Manager leads NorthBay Health’s creative services team, managing both internal and external talent to deliver compelling visual and written content for internal, external and philanthropic audiences. Reporting to the Director of Marketing & Brand, this role supervises the design team and oversees freelance / contract resources including writers, copyeditors, designers, photographers, and videographers. The Manager is responsible for ensuring brand integrity, balancing workloads, and aligning creative execution with marketing strategy. While design execution is a part of this role, this position is focused on leadership, workflow management, and quality assurance across all creative output, along with strategic creative direction for campaigns and brand. This position exercises discretion and independent judgment; and holds responsibility for executing strategic initiatives that impact the business.
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES
Team Leadership & Management – Directly supervises the design team and manages relationships with freelance / contract writers, editors, and creative vendors. Provides mentorship, sets priorities, and evaluates performance.
Creative Oversight – Reviews and approves design and written deliverables for internal, external and philanthropic audiences, ensuring brand standards and quality expectations are met before leadership review or distribution.
Strategic Alignment – Partners with marketing and digital leaders to translate campaign strategies into cohesive creative deliverables that drive patient acquisition, donor engagement, and service line growth. Partners with Foundation leaders to ensure cohesive and timely marketing for philanthropic events. Partners with internal communications team to ensure alignment of brand and creative deliverables for clinical and non-clinical staff.
Resource & Workflow Management – Balances workloads across the creative team, establishes efficient processes, and ensures projects are delivered on time and on budget. Coordinates vendor contracting and onboarding.
Cross-Functional Collaboration – Works with clinical, operational, and foundation partners to align creative support with institutional goals. Serves as a bridge between strategy and execution.
Creative Contribution – Provides design support when needed for high-priority projects, while primarily focusing on leadership and oversight.
Continuous Improvement – Monitors trends in healthcare marketing and creative services, recommending improvements to workflows, tools, and creative approaches.
Education : Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications, or related field.
Experience : Eight to ten, (8–10) years of creative services experience, including at least 4 years progressively responsible management experience. Healthcare or nonprofit experience preferred.
Skills : Strong leadership and project management abilities; ability to direct both visual and written creative functions; proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite; project management platforms, Smartsheets, MS Teams, strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Hours of Work : Monday through Friday; eight hours each day; some weekend and holiday assignments. Hybrid schedule optional with a minimum 3 days a week on-site.
Compensation : $ 135k to $145k annually based on years of experience doing the duties of the role. Annual bonus eligible.
