Job descriptionRecommend alterations to the design to improve quality. Follow applicable codes, adopted engineering standards, and good engineering practices. Multi-discipline coordination Support regional studios with low voltage design. Provide feedback about CAD and Revit content for continuous improvement. Project delivery support Prepare support documents and calculations for engineering analysis, budget analysis, and equipment selection. Conduct surveys to gather field data. Prepare drawings, layouts, and other visual aids. Perform construction site visits with engineer as part of the construction quality assurance process. Assist with project schedules. Promote company reputation through good client relations. Assist with BIM standards development at BSA. May be required to perform other duties as assigned. Strong analytical skills : Able to gather relevant data using appropriate methodologies and analyze that data to assist in making design decisions. Effective communication skills : Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to read and interpret information. Leadership Skills : Able to assume a role of responsibility, as necessary; sets an example for coworkers; empowers associates to make decisions and take personal accountability for decisions. High Accuracy and attention to detail : Able to perform work and job function with precision and accuracy; carefully follows the processes; concentrates on details, organizes and maintains a system of records. Strategic Thinking : Understands organization’s strengths and weaknesses; Adapts to changing conditions. Design : Creates innovative solutions; translates concepts and information into images; applies design principles. Strong Collaboration Skills : Collaborates with others to modify design; demonstrated ability to interact in a positive, respectful manner and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships. Code and Mathematical knowledge required : Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local building codes and safety laws is preferred. Computer skills required : Microsoft Windows environment, Microsoft Office : Word, PowerPoint, Excel; Google : Mail, Calendar, Drive, Apps. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in applicable field is preferred, but not required. BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) is preferred, but not required. 3-6 years related experience in building systems design is preferred.

We are searching for a Technology Systems Designer in our Tampa or Indianapolis studio.
The purpose of this position is to design a variety of Information Systems and Technology building systems for healthcare, higher education, and research facilities; work alongside the engineers and project managers on development of systems drawings using different software programs; participate in project team meetings with other disciplines; and provide design feedback for engineering analysis.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Systems design according to the local codes and facilities design guidelines
Perform design specific to the low-voltage systems including telecommunications, nurse call, audio / visual, security / access control, intercom, paging, sound reinforcement, clock, video distribution, and wireless antenna systems.
Collaborate with other team members to coordinate drawings.
Be responsible for all aspects of low-voltage design within designated projects.
