The Salvation Army Midland Divisional Headquarters is looking to hire a Payroll Specialist for an opening on our HR team. The right candidate will be someone who is very detail-oriented, possesses a high level of integrity, and is able to handle very confidential information. This is a full-time, 40 hour per week position with a starting pay between $20.00 and $23.00 an hour depending on education and experience.
The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for the weekly processing of payroll and related items. This includes, but is not limited to, employee changes in location, position, labor distribution, and pay. This position will process employee terminations, calculate vacation payouts, and enter those payouts into a pay data batch. It will create and process payroll reports, as needed, for our locations, auditors, and governmental agencies. It also handles the employment verifications, child support orders, and garnishments. It enters special payroll information into the appropriate pay data batches. It provides payroll training to the field for supervisors and employees.
Education and experience required : High School Diploma with a minimum of two year's payroll processing experience.
ADP Vantage experience a plus, but not required.
Skills / Abilities needed : Detail oriented, provide excellent customer service, great organizational skills, strong computer skills, ability to work and think independently. Position does not supervise other staff.
