Job description3+ years of estimating experience in heavy civil construction. Strong knowledge of asphalt paving, concrete paving, and highway infrastructure. Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., HeavyBid, Agtek, AutoCAD, Bluebeam). Excellent analytical skills, ability to understand construction means and methods. Strong Excel, MS Office, and documentation skills. Ability to communicate effectively with design teams, subs, and leadership. Experience on DOT or state highway projects. Familiarity with bridge and structure estimating. Construction management or civil engineering degree.

This company is a fourth-generation, family-run business and a leader in asphalt and concrete construction, earthwork and bridge construction.
About the Role :
You’ll produce high-impact, accurate cost estimates for complex civil infrastructure projects including highway paving, bridge construction, landfill cell build-out, and large earthwork. Your work supports the pre-construction team and helps shape project strategy.
Key Responsibilities :
- Analyze project plans, specs, and geotechnical data for bidding opportunities.
- Develop detailed quantity takeoffs for asphalt, concrete, earthwork, and structures.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to solicit and evaluate pricing.
- Build risk assessments, constructability reviews, and value-engineering options.
- Generate bid packages and present cost summaries to senior leadership.
- Maintain organized cost databases and historical estimating records.
- Collaborate closely with project managers and construction teams on handoff.
