Heavy Structures Project Manager (Roads & Bridges)

Tampa, FL | Full-Time

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Heavy Structures Project Manager to lead roadway and bridge asset management operations throughout the south Florida region. This position is responsible for overseeing the successful execution of roadway and bridge maintenance projects, managing both existing and new Asset Management and Operations & Maintenance (AM/O&M) contracts, and serving as a key liaison between field operations, internal stakeholders, and government clients.

The Heavy Structures Project Manager will provide leadership for all aspects of project delivery, including planning and scheduling work activities, directing field operations, monitoring contract performance, evaluating roadway and structural repair needs, preparing project reports, and ensuring compliance with contract requirements and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations of roadway and bridge maintenance projects.
  • Oversee Asset Management and Operations & Maintenance (AM/O&M) contracts to ensure quality, safety, schedule, and budget objectives are achieved.
  • Develop and implement project plans, schedules, and resource allocations.
  • Lead and support field crews, supervisors, and subcontractors to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Evaluate roadway and structural deficiencies and develop maintenance and repair strategies.
  • Prepare project documentation, reports, budgets, and performance metrics.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for government agencies, clients, and project stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies and safety standards.
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvements and process efficiencies.
  • Support business growth initiatives, including client relationship management and contract development opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience managing roadway, bridge, transportation infrastructure, construction, maintenance, or asset management projects.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Ability to lead diverse teams in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
  • Excellent communication and client relationship management abilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound operational decisions.
  • Experience managing budgets, schedules, and project performance metrics preferred.
  • Technical knowledge of roadway maintenance, bridge structures, transportation infrastructure, or asset management systems is preferred but not required.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys building high-performing teams. They possess a strong sense of accountability, excellent decision-making skills, and the ability to effectively balance strategic planning with day-to-day operational demands. Candidates should be driven by continuous improvement, professional growth, and a commitment to delivering exceptional results for clients and stakeholders.

Work Environment

This role offers a blend of office-based project management, active field engagement with roadway and bridge maintenance crews, and participation in client meetings and professional presentations. The successful candidate must be comfortable working in both office and field settings and adapting to changing priorities and project demands.
