Strong understanding of construction procedures, equipment, and OSHA safety guidelines. Familiarity with electrical and hydraulic systems. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and plans. Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Aptitude in math with strong problem-solving abilities. Physically fit with the stamina required for demanding fieldwork.
About the Role
PrimECS, LLC is seeking a dedicated General Foreman / Operator with extensive experience in Heavy Civil Construction to join our MD, DC and VA based team. In this key role, you will oversee daily field activities, manage crews, and ensure that projects are completed safely, on time, and to the highest standards. This position is ideal for a hardworking professional with hands-on experience in heavy civil construction and a strong commitment to leadership and safety.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate tasks and assign responsibilities based on project priorities and schedules.
- Produce crew schedules and monitor daily attendance.
- Supervise, train, and mentor workers and tradespeople to achieve top performance.
- Ensure adequate manpower, equipment, and materials are available for project needs.
- Enforce safety protocols and quality standards across all operations.
- Oversee the proper use of heavy machinery and equipment.
- Operate heavy equipment as needed to support field activities.
- Monitor project expenditures and ensure compliance with budgets.
- Troubleshoot issues and resolve problems that may impact progress.
- Provide regular updates and reports to managers, engineers, and project leads.
