Essential Functions

• Welds and fabricates various components used in heavy equipment and vehicles.
• Cuts metal into appropriate shapes.
• Smooths molten metal to remove creases.
• Operates specialized machinery for industrial welding.
• Oversees machines that perform similar tasks.
• Maintains and repairs all machinery.
• Assesses welded surfaces, structures, and components to identify errors.
• Selection and setup of appropriate welding equipment and methods based on project requirements
• Maintaining equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.

In this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk for long periods. Occasionally, the employee may need to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, twist, and bend. Effective communication, including talking and hearing, is also necessary. The position involves lifting and / or moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds on occasion. Vision requirements for this job include the ability to see clearly at a distance, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
