Kiewit's Central District operates in the central and south-central regions of the United States. We build heavy civil and transportation projects, including highways, airports, mass transit systems, canals, dams and tunnels. With one of the largest equipment fleets in the region, we can mobilize to any location as a full-service construction team capable of self-performing mass grading, drainage, bridge construction, aggregate production, paving, rail and utility construction.
We are looking for Survey Crew Chiefs to support projects around the United States. This team may support projects in any of the following states : CO, MT, WY, NM, ND, SD, NE, KS, MO, IA and MN. In this role, you must be willing to travel to project sites as needed and visit our district office in Lone Tree Colorado occasionally for training and meetings. When assigned to a project site, we provide per diem and trips home.
Responsibilities :
- Implement Project Survey Plants, according to instruction.
- Lead Field Survey Operations : Manage daily activities of survey crews conducting boundary, topographic, ALTA / NSPS, and construction staking surveys.
- Operate Advanced Equipment : Use GPS, robotic total stations, 3D laser scanners, and data collectors to acquire high-precision measurements. Ability to use CAD proficiently for layouts, (AutoCAD, Civil3D or Microstation) to convert drawings into Trimble Business Center
- Interpret Plans & Legal Documents : Read and apply engineering drawings, plats, deeds, and construction documents to guide fieldwork. Able to work within tight tolerances vertically and horizontally. Set and maintain control network.
- Ensure Data Integrity : Review and validate field data for accuracy and completeness before submission to project teams. Maintain accurate field notes and documentation
- Coordinate with Project Teams : Communicate effectively with superintendents, field crews, engineers, project managers, and clients to ensure alignment on scope, schedule, and deliverables and help define how work plans will be executed in the field.
- Maintain Safety & Compliance : Uphold safety standards and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Qualifications :
Base Compensation : $67,000 - $100,000 (Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and / or location)
