GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Potbelly Sandwich Works is seeking an experienced carpentry CNC operator to work alongside other craftsman, creating unique furniture, fixtures, and signage for new locations. All products are fabricated in our workshop which is located on the North side of Chicago. Please include resume or detailed work history in your response.
Responsibilities
- Measure and cut materials for cabinets, tables, and other restaurant fixtures.
- Operate CNC router to create unique tabletops, signage, and fixtures.
- Utilize design software to develop cut files for CNC router.
- Assemble cabinets and fixtures.
- Run edge bander and trim finished panels.
- Help with paint prep and finishing.
- Travel occasionally for repairs, installations, and deliveries.
- Maintain shop and equipment.
- Help with general maintenance, shipping and receiving (building crates, tool repair, etc.).
- Other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS
- Must have the ability/stamina to work 45 to 55 hours a week.
- Will frequently reach, feel, bend, stoop, and carry.
- Must be able to engage in problem-solving to help identify and solve potential issues.
- Ability to stand/walk for 8 hours per day.
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds frequently.
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND BEHAVIORS
- Minimum high school degree.
- Minimum of 3-5 years relevant experience required.
- Experience with CNC routers highly preferred.
- Proficient in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, VCarve, or AutoCAD.
- Experience in creating designs and toolpaths for a CNC router.
- Should be familiar with most bench and power tools.
- Must be very neat and organized.
- Creative background highly preferred.
- Must be a self-starter who can work well with others as well as independently.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to interact with all levels of a company.
- Must provide own hand tools.
- Must demonstrate leadership behaviors and values that align with Potbelly.
