About the Position
The Heavy Civil Water/Wastewater Superintendent plays a key leadership role in managing the daily field operations for complex water and wastewater construction projects. Reporting to the Construction Manager, this individual will oversee crews, subcontractors, equipment, and scheduling to ensure timely, safe, and high-quality project execution.
This is a boots-on-the-ground position for someone who excels in managing job sites, solving problems in real time, and maintaining strong communication with all stakeholders. The role is ideal for an experienced construction professional who brings deep knowledge of water/wastewater systems and a hands-on management style.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations

Lead day-to-day management of job sites for water/wastewater infrastructure projects

Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and field teams for efficient project delivery

Maintain production schedules and ensure milestones are met
Equipment & Maintenance

Oversee equipment use and ensure proper maintenance and availability on site

Manage equipment inventory and related logistics
Quality Control

Conduct ongoing inspections to verify work meets all design, quality, and code specifications

Address deficiencies promptly to uphold quality standards

Requirements**

High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)

Minimum of 10 years of experience in heavy civil construction with a focus on water/wastewater infrastructure

Proven ability to manage crews and subcontractors on complex, multi-phase projects

In-depth knowledge of materials, equipment, and construction methods for water/wastewater systems

Strong ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and project documents

Proficiency with project management software and field technology tools
