Gedeon GRC Consulting is looking for a Senior Drone Pilot to join our firm. The Senior Drone Pilot is responsible for supporting engineering projects by operating and managing drones, ROVs, and other robotics platforms to capture data, conduct inspections, and assist in the technical analysis of project sites. In addition to equipment operations, the Senior Drone Pilot plays a strategic role in supporting the Field Operations Manager by contributing to standardization of field procedures, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring safe and scalable execution of robotic operations. SALARY RANGE : $55,000 - $85,000 annually. Pay commensurate with experience. LOCATION : This is a Hybrid role with remote office work and on-site project work across up to 75% of the time. RESPONSIBILITES : ❖ Operate advanced robotic platforms (, Flyability, Voliro, Skydio, Deeptrekker) for confined space inspections, structural assessments, and data collection (visual, LiDAR, thermal, NDE, Sonar, etc.).❖ Conduct pre-mission planning including permitting, site assessment, operational path design, and risk mitigation.❖ Collaborate with robotics management and technical staff to develop, refine, and enforce field Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).❖ Provide technical mentorship and hands-on training to junior remote operators, robotics technicians, and support staff.❖ Lead and assist in equipment readiness checks, maintenance, and upgrades to ensure operational continuity.❖ Support field debriefs and operational feedback loops to continuously improve safety, data quality, and mission efficiency.❖ Maintain detailed operation logs, mission reports, and regulatory documentation.❖ Participate in technology evaluations, supporting testing and deployment of new robot systems, payloads, and data workflows.❖ Maintain compliance with federal, local, and client specific regulations, company policies, and safety protocols.❖ Stay current with industry's best practices and robotics technology advancements.
QUALIFICATIONS : ❖ 5+ years related work experience is preferred.❖ Proven experience as a Drone Pilot, preferably in an engineering, construction, or OGI environment.❖ Experience with confined space UAVs (, Flyability) is highly preferred.❖ Strong knowledge of LiDAR, photogrammetry, and inspection-grade data acquisition techniques.❖ Demonstrated ability to mentor and lead field crews, especially in high-stakes or sensitive missions.❖ Multi-disciplinary experience or technical understanding of electrical, mechanical, and software engineering concepts.❖ Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.❖ Access to a vehicle and a valid driver's license is required.❖ FAA Part 107 License is required.❖ OSHA 10 or 30 Hour and Confined Space Training is preferred.❖ The ability to travel to project sites is needed.
