Scope of Position

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Administrator / Technical Support Tier 1 / 2 professional with extensive telecommunications expertise. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and excels at problem-solving in a small NOC setting. The position requires comprehensive knowledge of data circuits, networking, hardware, VoIP systems, and structured cabling practices.

Responsibilities

  • Provide remote customer support for hardware, software, network connectivity, and troubleshooting, including technician dispatches.
  • Communicate and present technical solutions clearly during customer-facing video conferences.
  • Work with data circuits such as DSL, Cable, T-1, Ethernet, and Cellular networks.
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot networking equipment (modems, routers, switches, and firewalls).
  • Support and resolve issues with Active Directory (AD), VoIP systems, and legacy PBX systems.
  • Monitor network performance (availability, utilization, throughput, latency) and identify potential weaknesses.
  • Install and integrate server hardware and applications.
  • Assist with backup and recovery processes and maintain update schedules.
  • Set up and manage user accounts, permissions, and passwords in Azure AD.
  • Manage small-scale projects, including resource scheduling, material allocation, and status reporting.
  • Conduct research and recommend improvements to system administration policies.

Qualifications

  • Technical Skills :
  • Strong expertise in VoIP network connectivity tools (e.g., Wireshark, SIP ladder).
  • Experience with structured cabling practices and troubleshooting complex telecommunications systems.
  • Proven experience as a Network and VoIP administrator.
  • Familiarity with server hardware, networking software, and IT backup / recovery solutions.
  • Communication & Interpersonal Skills :
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with remote technicians and articulate complex technical solutions to non-technical audiences.
  • Professional demeanor with adaptability, humor, and composure in stressful situations.
  • Problem-Solving & Organization :
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities independently.
  • Ability to translate technical challenges into actionable solutions for end-users.
  • Additional Requirements :
  • Comfortable with a small corporate environment and diverse team dynamics.
  • Ability to lift IT hardware and materials weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Weekend on-call rotation every three weeks.
  • Hours : Monday through Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM.
  • LI-DNI
